We decided to create a diagram to help show how you should install our Hardwood Tongue and Groove Porch Flooring along with stainless steel fasteners. This Diagram is applicable to all hardwood Porch flooring including Ipe, Cumaru, and Garapa. Please download our T&G Porch Flooring Install Diagram to see how porch flooring is installed.
If you would like us to create any other visual aids or diagrams please let us know below in our comments.
I’m going to be installing 1×6 (5″ finished face) T&G massaranduba flooring over a 2×6 subfloor. The subfloor is enclosed from rain (we enclosed the screen-porch with glass and sliding doors) but it is still a pier and beam that has some exposure to dampness from below. I’m a little bit worried about moisture moving up from below and cupping the massaranduba. Other than a tar-paper rolled out to keep some moisture out and keep any squeaks out, is there anything else you would recommend?
Thanks.
Mike,
It really depends on where you are located and how much space is between the ground and your flooring also the amount of cross ventilation. The more ventilation and space the better off you will be. The best idea would be to give George Guy a call at 864.379.2111 and maybe even take some pictures of your installation location. Then George can advise on what the best plan would be.
Thanks
Paul
