About Teak. East Teak uses only high quality, kiln-dried Indonesian plantation teak. Our teak is classified as FEQ (First European Quality) which is a clear grade. Teak has natural oils that retards water and prevents the wood from warping, cracking or becoming brittle. Our teak contains natural substances that repel termites, marine borers and other insects.

Teak will age to a silvery finish or maintain the golden teak color by applying teak oil. Choose vertical or diagonal tiles and plan your layout in simple or creative patterns.

About Ipé (Ipe). (pronounced e-pay), this is an exotic hardwood which is naturally resistant to rot, decay and is fire proof. Ipé (Ipe) is dark brown with similar characteristics to teak at about 1/3 the price. It holds up to tough wear and tear in commercial and residential applications.

Our Ipé (Ipe) tiles are milled with an anti-slip surface. Ipé (Ipe) ages gray like our teak or maintain the rich dark brown color by applying your favorite penetrating wood sealer.
