East Teak Fine Hardwoods, Inc.
Launches New Certified Teak Website
Website Dedicated to FSC-Certified, Recycled Teak Information
DALLAS - October 18, 2007
East Teak Fine Hardwoods, Inc., the industry leader in First European Quality teak and other fine hardwood products, announces its recent launch of a new sub-website dedicated to recycled, eco-friendly products: www.certifiedteak.com. East Teak was the first supplier of Forest Stewardship Council (FSC) certified, 100 percent post-consumer recycled teak and rosewood in North America, and now highlights this unique product on its certified teak-specific website.
The new website is the result of the growing demand from architects, designers, and contractors looking for sustainable, FSC-certified timber because of concerns about the potential impact of building materials on the environment. As a company committed to environmental stewardship for the industry, East Teak's FSC-certified and reclaimed teak hardwood meets the industry's need for eco-friendly products that are beautiful and sustainable.
"With the growing demands for recycled building products, we wanted to develop a website specific to our reclaimed and certified teak products that would meet the needs of architects, designers and project contractors," says Matt Mladenka, Marketing and Sales Director of East Teak. "Certifiedteak.com allows visitors to search for information on recycled teak's different characteristics, specifications and applications as well as become more familiar with East Teak as a leading exotic hardwood supplier."
All of East Teak's reclaimed woods are recovered by hand from old structures and recycled for new use, thereby avoiding the need to fell living trees. Each piece brings the unique characteristics of 60-100 years of aging, which results in a very distinctive and durable product. In addition, the wood is individually hand graded to ensure the highest quality and reusability of the wood.
"The company's objective is to preserve wood resources for future generations to meet their own needs, while providing long-term economic benefits for the areas where we operate," added Mladenka. "Sustainability stems from the inherent durability of our wood. We distribute fine wood products that last, which prolongs the product life cycle and conserves the resources required for replacement."
