| Central Austin Management Group’s Garapa Commercial Interior. This commercial office space in Austin, TX, is finished with extensive millwork using Garapa. This durable golden-toned South American hardwood is suitable for both interior and exterior applications. Designed by Michael Hsu Design Office's Jay Columbo and built out by Central Austin Management Group’s in-house construction division, the project utilized Garapa for built-in desks, book shelves, closets, file cabinet surrounds, and partition screens. The project features stair risers and treads installed from end-grain Garapa, where the wood is sliced like a loaf of bread and the pieces are turned up on end to reveal the hardest part of the wood laid in an attractive soldier pattern. |
