NK Woodworking is an award-winning custom staircase and furniture and design company in Seattle.
NK Woodworking won 4 out of 5 awards (Most Unique Staircase, Best Straight Staircase, Best Balustrade and Best Stair Part) at the 2014 Stairways Manufacturers convention in April 2014 for this project. The Founder and Designer Nathie Katzoff is only 26 years old.
Here is how NK Woodworking describes their company:
In our Seattle shop we design and build curved and artistic custom stairs for residential and commercial spaces anywhere.
We are the jazz players of the stair industry.
Like the best jazz music, our custom stairs are visually elegant yet technically complex. Our designs incorporate improvisation and the redefinition of established forms. We use woods that are rich in character and color, metals that are distinctive, and joinery that is structurally impressive and visually stunning.
The “Ocean Side” Staircase was Designed and Made by NK Woodworking based out of Seattle. Woods used in the project include Big Leaf Maple, Wild Cherry and Sapele. The Staircase was Installed in 2013. East Teak provided the Sapele Lumber used to make the balcony rails and balustrade. It is an amazing and functional piece of wood work from what sounds like a very interesting and exciting company.
